Review of Bluetooth-headset Nokia BH-900

Catchy design for the people without hang-ups. We introduce you the headset Nokia BH-900. One of the main tasks the developers of the hands free headsets have is to make them suitable both to the left-handed person and to the right-handed one.

Table of contents:

  1. Sales package
  2. Design
  3. Control features
  4. Work quality
  5. Compatibility
  6. Targeted audience
  7. Specifications of the headset Nokia BH-900
  8. Conclusion

Sometimes this problem is solved unusually and very interesting. Recently we tested Sony Ericsson IV 835, that features no ear loop. Today the Nokia BH-900 is next in turn. It boasts even two ear loops….

Sales package. All Nokia devices have common box design. The white box with a blue sign and a transparent window houses a charger, a user guide and the headset.

Design. It happens, that we have a device to check out and don’t know how to approach it. Now it is almost the similar case. Let’s start from the front panel.

It is made of the lead-colour plastic. The panel is rather rough, when you scratch it with your finger, you notice a distinctive sound. In the middle of it locates a black glossy insert, that goes out of the panel and lasts without it. It is a folding panel with a microphone.

In this way you regulate the distance between the mouth and the microphone. But it is likely to be an attempt to follow the fashion, than the technological necessity. The left edge houses the row of control keys.

On the top we found the reverse volume control button, beneath locates the power button. The latter is small, raised and can be easily found and pressed with a finger. At the bottom you see the call button. The charger slot is on the opposite edge of the device. The ear loop is attached to the headset on the upper side. In the place of connection locates a small LED bar. It lights red and light-green colour. The diverging arcs are of the black colour and only its ends are light and rubberized.

The rear side houses a speaker platform and some specifications.

The design seems to be uncommon and even aggressive.

Control features of the Nokia BH-900. To put the headset on you need a skill. In the beginning you may not understand how to do it. You have just to seize an ear with the loop and put the speaker into the auricle. If it is necessary you can move the microphone forward, but this proved to be not so important. Of course this way of fastening ensures firmer locking. But when we put on the headset we realized, that the developers hadn’t thought about women, when designed this device. It is too big for the lady’s ear, you feel space and unsteady fastening. But the BH-900 is perfect to the male ear. So that is the right place to it.

To control volume is handy. You have only to get used to switch on the microphone. To do it you are to press the middle of the volume rocker key. But at first the finger slides to the sides. The call receive button and switching is perfect. To press it is easy, travel distance is distinctive, sufficiently tough.

Work quality. The volume adjusting and echo neutralization is controlled by the DSP-processor. And you feel it. The amount of noises is minimal. We tested the headset with the Ubiquam U600. To connect them we needed 5-7 seconds. We were impressed with the sound quality. Our interlocutor had no complaints. The signal was unsteady only once, but because of the net failure. The buttery lasts about 6.5 hours, to charge it from empty to full you need about 1 hour and 45 minutes.

The device covered the distance of 9 metres.

In any place – in the public transport, in the office, at the wheel- you feel calm and confidently with the devise. You can easily find the necessary button. To put the microphone forward turned out to be unnecessary, though to do it is rather handy.

Targeted audience. A possible user of the Nokia BH-900 is a purposeful businessman. He is confident in each step and isn’t afraid of the public opinion. And of course, it is a man. The ladies are unlikely to “adorn” their heads with this minirobot. Besides, not everyone prefers to pay for the hands free such a sum.
