Review of Bluetooth-headset Nokia BH-600

The Nokia BH-600 is another private in the formation of Bluetooth-headsets. We can call it a draught horse. The Nokia BH-600 has nothing special. It is simple, but of good quality.

Sales package. The whole package contains a light box with a transparent window that hides a headset, a charger and a user guide.

Design of the Nokia BH-600. The design is not original at all, but it is nice.

The headset is a little bit narrower in the end and has a small slant. The front panel features an insert of the silver-and-pearl colour. This colour is widely used in the Nokia devices. But its attraction also has a big drawback – it becomes shabby very soon and looks unsightly. The insert houses a multifunctional key in the small hollow.

The metal-colour key is in the form of a strip. It is rather handy, but you have to get used to it. The accidental pressings are ruled out. Beneath the key locates a small mode indicator.

On the rear panel we see a platform with a loudspeaker. The fastening of the ear loop has the same size as the loudspeaker.

Be careful when changing the loop to wear it on the other ear. Its end shouldn’t jut out; otherwise you can get scratched, as it isn’t even.

The ear loop is bulky and thick. The middle is rubberized. If you look hard, you notice that the loop has the ergonomic form, it allegedly has the form of the ear, but ears differ. For example, the loop was big to the normal male ear. The loudspeaker wasn’t solid enough to the auricle and the device set loosely. Though it looked not bad.

The left edge is free from buttons, the right one features a volume rocker key. The latter is flat, plastic and tight. It is hard to find it. “+” and “-” signs is relief, but very delicate, that’s way the finger almost fails to find it.

The charger slot locates in the top, the microphone is in the end.

Control features. So, we have already mentioned that there were some problems with fastening. That’s way we are afraid of losing it. In fact, you’d better don’t move abruptly. It isn’t handy to control volume, as it is difficult to grope for both the volume rocker key and its edges. But to turn off the microphone is not a problem at all.

The rubberized part of the loop is, of course, a good thing, but that doesn’t alter the situation. To adjust the hands free to the ear is still a complicated task.

Because of the bulky ear loop and heavy weight the headset is noticeable on the ear and you are unlikely to forget about it. But it is convenient, as you will be careful and don’t shake it accidentally off.

Work quality. We tested the accessory with the Samsung Z600. The full charging needs a little more than an hour, in the talk mode the battery lasted 6 hours. The covered distance is 8 metres. The sound quality was perfect as always. But because of the loose fastening the sound was changing. The headset sometimes moved away from the acoustic meatus and we heard the interlocutor worse, we had to hold it back. And it doesn’t remind hands free…

Because of the ill-conceived location and inapt configuration of the keys we want to duplicate or boost all actions. In the end the headset slows down, the connection is broken because of the excess pressings. It looks like the device can work perfect, but its design doesn’t let it.

Targeted audience. It is difficult to determine the targeted audience of the Nokia BH-600. It may be people, who like the design of the headset. The work quality doesn’t change – it remains on the high level, but the design, of course, is a matter of taste. So, those, who like the model, will be its buyer. Regarding the price, it is fluctuating between 60$ and 80$.

Specifications of the headset Nokia BH-600

  • Weight: 18g

Conclusion. It doesn’t set the Thames on fire. We can describe the checked out headset in this way. It is common, functional and even catching in some way. It has its consumer. And the latter has to be deft. Because he/she has to learn how to control it. The keys are slim, smart, but still they aren’t handy.

They sacrifice the ergonomics to the design and …almost nothing remains.

Advantages

  • Quiet, classical design

Disvantages

  • Low ergonomics
