Детский мобильный телефон BB-mobile GUARD обладает двумя режимами работы: родительским и детским. Перед началом эксплуатации, родители могут установить критерии контроля: определить зоны, покидая которые, телефон будет автоматически отправлять SMS, заполнить книгу контактов, создать шаблоны SMS, установить ограничения длительности разговоров. В детском режиме входящие и исходящие звонки и SMS возможны только с тех номеров, которые родители внесли в адресную книгу. В случае кражи и замене SIM карты телефон автоматически отправит SMS одному из родителей с новым номером. Можно запрограммировать телефон на запрет звонков и SMS во время уроков. В данном режиме ребенок сможет воспользоваться только экстренной связью. После окончания уроков абонент получает уведомления о пропущенных вызовах и сообщениях.
